Personal Auto

Auto coverage should not be a one-size-fits-all package. Instead, it should be customized to fit your exact needs including the deductible you desire with the coverage that matches your lifestyle. You should consider several factors when purchasing auto insurance:

• Previous Tickets/Accidents/Violations
• Preferred Deductibles
• Preferred Limits of Liability
• Marital Status
• Number of Vehicles
• Type of Vehicles
• Vehicle Use
• Age of Driver(s)

Below are some coverage definitions that are important to understand when considering auto insurance.

COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE (OTHER THAN COLLISION):
This category of coverage insures your vehicle for incidents that cause a loss besides a collision. Examples of a comprehensive loss include animal damage, flood damage or if your car is stolen, depending on the terms set forth in your policy.

COLLISION COVERAGE:
Covers any damage to a vehicle if the driver hits, or is hit, by another vehicle or object.

UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORIST:
Covered under the policy, and/or the passenger(s). The purpose of this coverage is to ensure that you and your passengers are covered should you be involved in an accident with an at-fault driver or hit-and-run driver who does not have insurance or is underinsured. Although this coverage is not required, it is strongly recommended for all drivers and a release must be signed for those who decline coverage.

BODILY INJURY:
Required by state law, this coverage insures against bodily injury or death in which you are responsible. Bodily Injury also provides legal defense should another party submit a lawsuit against you. Examples of items covered under bodily injury include medical bills, pain and suffering and loss of income. Please note, bodily injury only covers injury to people and not damage to your car.
